Fire line EMT/Paramedic
Trahan Fire Rescue is currently hiring professional fire line EMTs and Paramedics to work on major fire incidents this summer. This is a seasonal position from May 1st – November 1st with a possibility for full time year round employment. As a fire line EMT/Paramedic, you are the first responder to medical incidents while on the fire line. This includes being able to hike into rough terrain in order to treat, prepare, and stabilize a patient for transport via ground or air ambulance. All FEMT/P are issued 4×4 pickups, line gear, medical gear, and all needed PPE prior to the assignment. Deployments are 14 days long with an option to extend to 21 days if needed.
- Qualifications:
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
- Wildland firefighter 2 is optional as we provide these
- Fireline EMT/P is highly recommended before applying
- Ability to pass an arduous Pack fitness test
- Current RT-130 Refresher (Company offered)
- Clean driving record
Pay: Scaled starting at EMT: $20 per hour. Paramedic: $30
